KTP laser (blood vessels)
The KTP laser operates at a wavelength of 532nm (green light). The laser beam is absorbed by the vein witout damaging the upper skin layers, and destroys the vessel wall by means of the resulting heat. In this way, the following vascular changes can be treated very effectively, mildly and almost painlessly:
- dilated capillaries in the face (couperose)
- small port-wine stains (naevus flammeus)
- small hemangioma
- fine red spiderveins on the legs
